He has developed restaurants, hotels, catering companies and community food programmes in Miami, New York, Las Vegas, the Caribbean and the Pacific Islands, including Executive Chef/Owner of SUVA Restaurant in Miami with actress Marisa Tomei. Robert is a forerunner and a practitioner of the “Farm to Table” movement and is considered to be a tropical cuisine expert. In 2011, his book " Me'a Kai; The Food and	Flavours of the South Pacific " (Random House, New Zealand) stunned the food world by winning the top prize at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Paris, taking the title 'BEST COOKBOOK IN THE WORLD 2010", beating the books from NOMA and the New York Times. Robert is Chef Ambassador for Le Cordon Bleu, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and is currently based in Shanghai as New Zealand food ambassador to the People's Republic of China.

The main aim of the fund is to assist non-for-profit and charity organisations focusing on HIV/AIDS The World AIDS Day Dinner was launched in 2010 to raise monies for HIV/AIDS charities of Australia. The main aim of this event was to raise money to help and assist people in the community who are HIV positive and/or have AIDS, and to make a difference in their lives. This was done through two well known charities – the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation and St Vincent's Patient Support Fund. In 2011 the World AIDS Day Dinner Fund was established. There are other activities planned throughout the year, however the World AIDS Day Dinner is the major fundraiser for the fund.

The main aim of the fund is to assist non-for-profit and charity organisations focusing on HIV/AIDS. This can be done in a number of ways, provided that the charity or foundation is directly supporting the immediate community. Any organisation or foundation can apply for funds if they are HIV/AIDS related. Funding will be released to successful applicants on World AIDS Day on 1 December.

Haven Inc The western Suburbs Haven Inc exists to support, empower and care for people living with HIV/AIDS, their partners, families and volunteer cares in the Greater West of Sydney. www.thewesternsuburbshaven.com.au Tree of Hope Tree of Hope is a CatholicCare program which provides pastoral and counselling support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and for their primary carers. This service is open to people from every denomination. The tree of Hope centre at Surry Hills is a place of hospitality and welcome. It offers a space for reflection, respite and the development of friendship to all people living with HIV/AIDS can be hard work, both physically and emotionally.
